What you will be doing
As Commercial Manager, you will be a cornerstone in our organisation. You will lead customer contact and negotiations, manage business development opportunities, and provide strategic input into KOTUG’s Inland Shipping’s operations. This pivotal role focuses on maintaining strong customer relationships, optimising the fleet portfolio, and ensuring the smooth execution of the business strategy.

• Drive Safety & Quality: Lead the charge in upholding HSEQ standards, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Shape Strategy: Be a key player in executing KOTUG’s strategy, ensuring our fleet and business plans align with growth goals.
• Fuel Growth: Spot new business opportunities, build strong relationships, and position KOTUG’s Inland Shipping services at the forefront of the market.
• Own the sales process: Manage the sales journey from prospect to loyal customer, ensuring smooth transitions and top-notch service.
• Maximise Performance: Analyse results, forecast sales, create impactful quotes, and proactively close deals to keep things moving.

Experience & Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Commercial or Business Management, with a proven track record in a commercial setting – ideally in the maritime or inland shipping industry.
• Strong knowledge of inland shipping laws and regulations, and a genuine interest in staying up to date with industry trends.
• A solid background in working with (maritime) technology, especially when it comes to leveraging innovation to drive results.

• A master communicator with exceptional influencing and negotiation skills – whether  dealing with clients or stakeholders, you know how to achieve results.

• You’re fluent in both Dutch and English, written and spoken, and can adapt your communication style to any audience.
